Recently I watched the health documentary THE CURE IS…which covered many aspects of illness and disease and focused on overwhelming evidence backed by science, that our thoughts, beliefs and unresolved emotions may be one of the greatest threats to our health.

Experts featured in THE CURE IS… included stem cell biologist and author Dr Bruce Lipton (The Biology of Belief), spiritual teacher and author Marianne Williamson (The Age of Miracles), leading health authority Paul Chek, scientist, visionary and scholar Gregg Braden, internationally recognised cancer expert Dr Bernie Siegel, fitness expert Tony Horton, physician and nutritional researcher Dr Joel Fuhrman, internationally recognised authority on bridging science, spirit and human possibility Dr Sue Morter and nutritionist Deanna Latson.

This will be Part 1 of a two part series honing in on many of the aspects of the ‘stress spiral’ and how stress affects your body chemistry.

If the ‘stress spiral’ it not unlocked, and if you fail to direct your mind in a positive direction, then negative thoughts start producing an enhanced stress reaction and a hormonal cocktail is set off. As an outcome, stress will find its’ way into your mind.

If you focus on a low stress life where the stress that you experience daily actually enhances your life, you create a life where a state of wellness abounds. Focus on what you do on the low stress days and do more of it.

Marianne Williamson says that spiritual energy comes first and once you accept this, then you can change your physical, mental and emotional beliefs. The chemistry of your thoughts can heal you.

Stress is a habit that you can learn to switch off, and the easiest way is to ‘push the record button’ to reframe your mind.

The experts all agreed that self-love enhances the ‘happy hormones’ in your life and this reduces stress. It is acknowledged that self-love is one of the most powerful healing tools there is.

To forgive yourself allows the release of huge amounts of stress, which in turn allows you to heal yourself and start the secretion of happy hormones in your body which in turn enhance your health.
